About Our Lip & Tongue-Tie Dental Office – Phillipsburg, NJ
Giving Children the
Freedom to Thrive
Each year, thousands of children are born with lip and tongue-ties, preventing many mothers from enjoying one of the most fulfilling parts of parenthood—breastfeeding their child. As a mother of four, Dr. Garcia-DeMartino knows how emotionally draining this can be, and she’s also aware of the dangers they can present to an infant’s health. Lip and tongue-ties are often treated in early childhood, but many teens and adults still have them as well. Fortunately, Dr. Garcia-DeMartino is a lip and tongue-tie specialist who is able to solve these problems using the most precise, gentle, and effective method possible.
Laser Specialist for Nearly 20 Years
Dr. Garcia-DeMartino is a highly skilled and in-demand dentist who has been practicing for over 30 years, but she has also completed countless hours of training dedicated to using dental lasers. These allow her to provide a surgery-free solution that is virtually painless for lip and tongue-ties. Her extensive knowledge of facial anatomy, along with her laser expertise, allows her to easily treat patients of all ages, particularly infants, while keeping them completely comfortable.
Woman to Woman Treatment
Trying to nurse an infant with a lip or tongue-tie is almost impossible, and it can be quite painful and emotionally draining for the mother. Dr. Garcia-DeMartino deeply empathizes with mothers in this situation, and she’s able to draw on her own experience as a mother to help provide support and guidance. When moms visit here, they can trust they are working with a peer, not just a doctor, who deeply understands their struggles and why it’s so important for the child and parent to get treatment.
Private Nursing & Post Op Room
Our specialty dental office features a private nursing room where mothers can nurse their babies away from the general reception area. This allows for ideal parent-child intimacy, plus it gives Dr. Garcia-DeMartino a chance to see how a baby is struggling to feed firsthand, leading to a more accurate diagnosis. After treatment, patients and parents will be able to relax and regroup in a post-op room, where Dr. Garcia-DeMartino can come to check in and ask questions before sending everyone home, happy, and healthy.
Hablamos Español
As a first generation Cuban-American, Dr. Garcia-DeMartino is fluent in both English and Spanish, which gives her the wonderful opportunity to care for families from different backgrounds. Spanish-speaking patients and parents can feel at ease in her dental office and open up about their struggles without feeling pressure to communicate in a language they’re not entirely confident in. ¡Bienvenidos!
